Pirates were invading Cache Valley

April is Child Abuse Prevention month and we attended a fundraiser for it the other night. A friend of ours in our ward is the Director of the Child & Family Services Center in Logan. Many of our friends from our ward attended this event so it was a fun night as well as a good cause! It seemed to be very successful, hopefully raising a lot of money to assist this center to take care of children who are in a bad situation and also educate parents so they can better care for their children. The dinner was great and there was also a Live and Silent Auction held.

Prom

Christa got to go to Prom with a boy named Calvin. She didn't know him until about a few days before, but had a good time. They doubled with McKinzie and Brady. Mckinzie's mom, my good friend, Debbie Moore prepared dinner for them at her house before the dance while Greg & I were at Wicked. How nice of her, huh?

WICKED!!

If you have never had the opportunity to see the Broadway musical, Wicked, I would highly recommend it! My girls both had the opportunity to see it in New York, and Greg and I finally got to see it Salt Lake yesterday. We had several of our friends who went and sat with us also. Rob & Joanna Mantz and Kristi and Brittney Berryhill. What a fun day! A friend of mine went to the Thursday night show and had the opporunity to be in the presence of President Monson, President Uchdorf and L. Tom Perry! I hear that President Monson loves a good musical, so that made me feel good to think that I had chosen one that he would enjoy also!

Silver Reef Ghost Town near St George

Oops I almost forgot about our visit to the ghost town. On our way home we stopped here to visit. Breeann had been here before because it is really close to Cedar City where she is going to college. There wasn't much here, but it was interesting. There were some buildings that were falling apart that the boys wanted to climb on. They didn't care that there were signs indicating the danger. The old train, mining cars, etc were pretty neat. There was even a site that had been a saloon and a site of revelry, gambling and shoot outs! This was the warmest day of the whole week and we were traveling. So, it felt good to walk around in this desert ghost town and feel the sun's warmth!!

Zions - Spring Break

The weather was really nice at Zions - one of the warmest days of our break. The hikes are always fun and it is so beautiful! We met our friends the Mantz family and they joined us in our hikes. It was a fun day!

Spring Break in St George!

Its kind of become a tradition for our family to spend Spring Break in St. George, and we love it! This year the weather was not the best, but it was nicer than at home! It was cloudy and a little rainy, but we did see sun a few days. One of the fun things we did was eat out at a buffet in Mesquite, Nevada. It was all-you-can-eat crab legs, lobster tail, shrimp, etc. The kids loved it! Especially Tanner, he must have a hollow leg or two. He ate and ate and ate and ate some more. You can see him surrounded by plates of crab legs, that is not an exageration! In fact, he ate lots more by the time he was done. Christa didn't come with us to that meal, she was with a friend seeing "Hannah Montana The Movie"!

Good Things Utah Taping!

Yesterday was a fun day in Salt Lake. I had the opportunity to go with my good friend Melanie Jensen, her sister Leslie, and her daughters, Nanette, Katie and Naomi to a taping of the morning show "Good Things Utah". It was Melanie's birthday so the camera spotlighted her for a few moments. It was an interesting experience to be in the audience watching how things work for a live taping. I really enjoyed it and hope to do it again, soon! One of the segments showed was a couple of grandma's who make bath products and sell them. I went to their blog and they have recipes for some of them that would be fun to make. We got a sample of a bath "cookie" which makes your skin feel very soft after the bath. Their blog is www.naturalgrandmas.com . Also, the video is a couple of friends of Paul Cardall who is a very talented musician. They were trying to promote a fundraiser they will have to raise money to help him pay his large medical bills. Paul Cardall is in congestive heart failure (due to a heart problem he has had his whole life) and he needs a heart transplant. Funny Face!

This is Brooke, she is my "adopted grandbaby". She is my friend Sara's baby and we watch her atleast once a week while Sara works. Brooke is 10 months old and discovering the world! She loves making and imitating faces. My kids all adore her!

What a life!

I have been wanting to get a picture of Charlie sprawled out by the fire for a long time and finally had the camera ready this morning. His bed is right next to the fire but he loves to lay on the floor and FEEL THE WARMTH! He is so funny, it always makes me giggle when I see him doing this!
