New Year's Eve

This was actually the night before New Year's Eve.
We had fun playing games, and had a yummy dinner.
The real New Year's Eve wasn't quite so fun. Actually Bliss
& Robert think it was their best New Year's Eve ever!!
Ha ha, NOT! They wouldn't let me take their picture as
they were both laying in bed DYING from the horrible,
aweful flu bug that they got from Shea. Both of them
woke up early New Years Eve morning very sick! So,
I tried to make it a fun night for the kids, but they didn't
really want to have fun. They were feeling too bad for
Bliss & Robert. We made suckers, tried to play games, had
dinner and watched a movie. Then, we went to bed EARLY!
Happy New Year!
Greg really was having fun, he is just concentrating on
his dominoes.
Braden loved this game and was very good at it too!

The boys wrestling in the pool

I always love pictures of the kids in the hot tub!
Their cheeks have more color in them than usual
and they look so cute! Oops, I forgot to get Christa's
swimsuit like she asked me to, so she wore shorts and
a tshirt. Very embarrassing to a teenager! She had
fun anyways and we are glad she came!

Bear Lake with the Sawyers

We got a condo in Bear Lake for a few days around New Years.
Bliss & Robert and Shea went for the first night alone, then
me and the kids came up. We drove a few miles into Logan
Canyon from Bear Lake to the funnest sledding hill around,
the "Sinks". Robert told the kids that they might fall into
a sink hole and we wouldn't be able to get them out. It
might be true, one never knows! But, luckily no one did and
we all had a great time sledding!
Shea had been sick with the flu so most of the time
she laid at the bottom of the hill as if she were dead.
Unless her loving daddy carried her up, then
she had fun sledding back down!

Bliss coming down...

so he stayed at the condo)

Frugal Challenge-December

Ok, since I committed to report here each month I am going to continue to do so. (Because it gives me a way to keep track of this goal and I have found that when you set a goal, it helps to write it down and have someone to be accountable to.) I knew that December would be difficult to stay within that budget, but to be honest with you, I wasn't stressing about it too much. I did my best, and was able to feed my family well (healthy, balanced meals most of the time). We had company for a week also and of course, Christmas. I have been reading a blog lately that is motivating and helpful. It is http://www.moneysavingmom.com/. This lady has been very frugal and successful and has some great ideas! I would encourage all my family and friends to read this as often as possible and see how much fun it can be! For the month of December I spent $384.26 on groceries. Yes, it is over my goal of $300, but I'm ok with that. Some months are just going to be that way. I have fun trying anyway!
