Happy flowers

I love daisies! They are so happy! I saw these today
and couldn't resist them!

Trek

My boys are on a trek with our stake for 3 days this
week. It is being held here in one of our amazing
canyons and I went up for the day yesterday.
This is Bishop King (our old Bishop who is now the
Stake Young Men's President). He and his counselors
were dressed like Outlaws and came to scare the "Pioneers"
and steal some of their stuff.
This is Sister Kathy Zenovieff who I had the privilege
of serving with in the Stake YW Presidency for three
years (until our Stake was recently divided).
Tanner and his friend Craig after a long day of
trekking! From what I heard from the leaders and
the kids it was a VERY difficult journey. They had
several very steap mountains to climb with their
handcarts. I think they got a little taste of what our
pioneer ancestors went through. They are sitting here on
the side of the mountain for a little fireside where the
speaker was talking on The Distractions of Life. We
heard a song called the Climb (Miley Cyrus). The
theme for this trek is "Courage to Climb". The youth
of today are certainly faced with a lot of mountains to climb
and also distractions in life which can be hardships for them.
Hopefully after this trek, they will all have the courage to
climb and get to the top of these challenges they will be faced
with! Life is a continuous challenge!
Bryce pushing the handcart. Almost to the campsite!!
These kids were hot, exhausted and hungry!!
A mama sheep and her twin babies we came
across while hiking to meet up with the trekkers!
They were so sweet.

Weekend with 4 teenage boys!

I took my boys and two of their friends to Bear Lake
for the weekend since Greg was busy with the
Ragnar race. It was the first weekend we have
had with nice weather! This is Tanner out by
the pool being goofy! He put his head in between
the things on a chair and is doing a head stand.
Conner and Bryce playing basketball in the pool
Tanner and Garrett relaxing in the hot tub! What
a life!!
Bryce and Conner relaxing in the hot tub after
the cold water in the lake!
Since it was the first nice weekend, the water in
the lake was FREEZING!! I rented a wave runner
so that the boys could go out and have fun, but I got
more than I bargained for. I didn't realize when you
rent such machines, an adult has to ride at all times with
the kids. So, for two hours I was holding on for dear life
while these crazy boys had the time of their lives!!

Ragnar/Wasatch Back

This weekend Greg participated in the Ragnar Relay Race.
This race starts in Logan and goes to Park City (188 miles being
run by 12 people on a relay team in a 24 hour period of time)
Greg's team started at 9:00 am Friday morning. His first leg
was at about 3:00 in the afternoon, his second leg at midnight and
then the third leg at 9:00 Saturday morning. This is how it
goes: run, eat, sleep, run again....Well, not so much the
sleeping part since they either have to sleep in their
vehicle or a park. He had a good time and even says he
would do it again!

Fun day in the park with Brookie!

We met Sara and her kid in the park for a picnic and
to visit our little zoo. Brooke is now 2 years old!
It seems like she was just a baby.
We are feeding the fish. It was kind of funny, because
you would think that Brooke would be excited to
see the animals at the zoo. Well, not so much!
But she loved the water! She didn't even really care
about the fish in the water, but she liked throwing in
the food.
My boys have always loved Brookie! She was
ok with riding on "Nanners" shoulders, but pretty
quickly would put her hands out to me and say,
"HUG!" which means she wanted me to hold her.
Brooke loved the slides at the park and Bryce had
fun chasing her up the ladders and going down
with her!

Double Rainbow

Ok, this picture is not even close to pretty like we
saw with our own eyes. The sky was a bright,
bright blue and the rainbow was even brighter!
And it was a double! I think I should have
turned off the flash on the camera, but I guess its
too late now!

Christa's new hair!

Christa has been talking about getting her hair cut
short for quite awhile and she finally did it!
She came home and said Alex was practically
crying and Jake said, "I like you better with long
hair"! What is it with boys and long hair?
I think she looks so darling with this new do!

NAMPA -- Like a lot of people, Kenneth Redmon, always dreamed of winning the lottery.

That dream became a reality this week for the Nampa man when he won a $347,175 jackpot in last Saturday's Wild Card game.

Idaho Lottery officials presented Redmon a check Thursday at the store where he bought the winning ticket -- the Gem Stop at Roosevelt and Midland in Nampa.

“I called the Lottery’s winning numbers line yesterday and wrote down the numbers. Then I checked my tickets and I just couldn’t believe it,” said Redmon. “I had my daughter do the same thing and the numbers were still the same, so I knew I wasn’t completely lost.”

Redmon is the Idaho Lottery’s sixth largest winner on Wild Card.

Redmon said he plans to use his winnings to encourage his wife to retire, although he plans to continue working part-time. He also plans to pay off bills and spend a lot more time playing golf.

“It is a dream. A dream that can come true and it just did!” exclaimed Redmon.

For selling the winning ticket Gem Stop receives a $20,000 bonus from the Idaho Lottery.
