Sick kid!

Bryce has spent his entire Christmas break sick!
And I mean SICK!  He was basically
unconsious for 4 days with a high fever and
horrible cough!  Then, right after Christmas
he started complaining that his stomach hurt.
I just figured it was all related and he wasn't complaining
too much.  Until Friday morning when I drove Christa to the
airport, he called me and said it was really bad and he couldn't
stand up straight.  When I got back I took him to the doctor to see if he was
having appendicitis.  She was pretty confident that's what it was and also
said his lungs sounded like he could have pneumonia.  She sent us straight to
the hospital where they did some blood work and a cat scan of his belly and
xray of his lungs.  Sure enough, his appendix was really sick.  They took him
back for surgery after a few hours waiting in the ER (they are never very quick!)
He stayed over night in the hospital and got to come home
after lunch the next day.  He already feels much better!  And here
are his battle wounds.  Hopefully he will recover quickly because
next week he has to start training for his next LaCrosse season!  Poor
kiddo, hopefully he won't get sick again for a LONG time!  He's had
more than his fair share!  And coughing, by the way, does NOT
feel so good to the tummy after you have surgery!

Drive to the cabin

My parents and Toni wanted to go for a drive to see the
cabin in Bear Lake Christmas afternoon.  It was a beautiful
day for a drive!

Christmas morning snow

Merry Christmas!  We woke up to a ton
of beautiful snow!  This is really early in
the morning, still a little dark.

Snowshoeing with Tanner

Christmas day Greg and Tanner went showshoeing up
the mountain next to our house.  We got a nice big
snowstorm for Christmas.  It was a beautiful day!
When they go to the top of the mountain they ran across
a few of our neighbors on their way back down.

It looks like Tanner is on top of the world!

Hike up the mountain

Right before Christmas Greg took Christa hiking up the
mountain next to our house.  This is the beginning of the huge
snowstorm that we got!

 Near the top
Christa left a little snowman at the top
 Hiding in the bushes?

Gingerbread house

We spent the weekend before Christmas at the cabin so
this year decided to make the gingerbread house there.
Bryce was super sick the whole time we were there and
this just happens to be a few minutes where his fever broke
and he was feeling half alive, so he joined us.
Greg is helping too, but looks like he did all the picture taking!
Love the gingerbread house kits!  Christa was able to come
stay with us for the whole week from California.

Snowshoeing in Bear Lake

Tanner and Christa drove the Ranger up
the Canyon a ways and then went snowshoeing.
Showing off her cool snow shoes??

Taking a break and playing a bit
They had a really fun time!

More Mountain Biking

Winter

We spent the weekend before Christmas at the cabin.
The view from our front door early in the morning.  So
beautiful!
There is a great sledding spot right next to our cabin.
Bliss spent the day before we got there packing down the
snow nicely so we could all go sledding.

Back up a little....

I have had a difficult time posting to my blog lately.  For
some reason it wouldn't allow me to post for the last few
months.  So....back up a little and Greg took Tanner
and Breeann to the cabin for a few days before Breeann
moved to Colorado to join Brandon.
 Loving the Ranger
 Much braver than their mama!
Having a picnic up the canyon.  Nothing like a little time
away with Dad!  We love the cabin!

Christmas Eve

Bryce was so sick with a fever and bad cough.  He ended
up begging me to let him go to bed at 8 pm.  So we had him
open his PJs early.  We were waiting for Tanner to get home
from work and Grandma and Grandpa to get here.
 Christa and Greg playing
 Opening PJs
Toni came with Grandpa and Grandma for Christmas. She
was being a little shy and kept hiding from the camera.

Our traditional Christmas book.  Mom reads the book
and then Dad reads the Christmas Story from the scriptures.
Breeann and Brandon face time with us via the ipad for
Christmas Eve.  Isn't technology great??  We would have
rather have them here in person with us but were greatful that
they could face time from Colorado!

Christmas Tree

We're like The "Griswold's" from Christmas Vacation
tying the tree to the top of the van!

Thanksgiving

We spent our Thanksgiving in Bear Lake at our cabin with
The Sawyer's.  Robert is carving the turkey.
 The kids chowing down!
 Beautiful Sunset
Grandma Zee bought the dogs matching Christmas sweaters!
