Ride up Bloomington Canyon into Paris Canyon

It was a beautiful day to ride into the canyons in the
Bear Lake area.  We started in Bloomington Canyon and
went into Paris Canyon.  Our friends Wayne and Debbie Moore
and their son Jessie came as well as Bliss & Robert and Shea,
Debbie's parents Wendell and Ruth Johnson and some of their friends.

Shea and Greg getting ready to go!
Bliss and I in the front of the ranger, Greg and Robert were in the
back.  At the beginning of the ride when the road was not scary to
drive on.  Once it got scary we turned it over to Robert and Greg.
 Just enjoying the day
We took a little hike into the Paris Creek.
Debbie, Bliss and I have all been friends for over
22 years.  It was a beautiful place to stop!
 Greg at paris creek
 Gorgeous place!
Our next stop was at some ice caves.
Bliss and Debbie discussing the meaning of life.
This cave has ice in it and was where the pioneers
of this area used to come get their ice.  It was cold.
Our group...well most of us.  What a fun day!  We had a picnic
and then ended up back at Wendell and Ruth's cabin where we had
a nice dinner and homemade ice cream.  Great way to end a great summer.

Shooting guns!

Tanner is home for a few months and
we decided to go shooting.  He's a pretty good shot!
This is the first time I have shot a rifle.  Its loud and heavy
and about kicked me on my fanny.  But it was fun.
I can't hit a target by the way!
Especially a moving one!
Greg is pretty good at it also!

Golfing in Bear Lake

There is a golf course right by our cabin
in Bear Lake.  A few weeks ago on a beautiful
Saturday afternoon Greg and I went golfing.
This is the first time I had ever been on a golf
course.  Greg did most of the golfing and
at several of the holes he let me hit the ball to
get the feel of it.  Next time maybe I will try 9 holes.

I had fun driving the cart.
You can't beat the views!  Greg and the lake.

Vancouver B.C.

We drove into Canada our last day.  Bliss has an old college
friend Alison who lives there.  She was so sweet to come
hang out with us and show us around!  She took us to a
cool park called Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.
Not only is there the bridge but there
are platforms and stairs that lead to treehouses
with beautiful views.

This is the bridge.  Very scary!
It moves ALOT when you walk and
is SOOOO long!  It boggles my mind
how it can be suspended like that and hold
that much weight.
 Looking down
Going up to one of the tree houses
 Entering a gift shop
Then we drove up to the ski resort where they
held the Olympics.  It was pretty foggy but if you
look closely you can see B.C. in the background.

In front of the Olympic Rings
We went to the Village for lunch and
walked down to the Ferry to see the boats.
Oops, this picture is supposed to be at Whatcom falls.
Beautiful Kristi

Alison, Kristi, Melanie, Bliss and I
The three amigos.  We had such a great time.  I feel
extremely lucky to have such great friends.  We've been
friends since 1993.  We've had kids
together, celebrated fun times together and been
there for each other through rough times also.  I love them.

Evening walk on the beach in Birch Bay

We tried to walk along the beach that
evening, however, there was no beach.  The
tide was too high.  This is a huge old log.
 Just having some fun
Beautiful sunset at Birch Bay

Bellingham and Whatcom Falls

Next morning we went into Bellingham to find a farmers market.
I was born in Bellingham!  Its a cute little town.  We found
this YUMMY crepe restaurant.  By the way, my
friends didn't tell me that shirt makes me look like an
elephant!  Oh my!
My good friend Melanie Swank from high school met us for some
fun!  It was so fun to reminisce!  She lives near Seattle and we
were having so much fun that she was able to convince her husband to
let her stay the night with us and hang out until the next night!
This is for my mom to show her that we were
in Bellingham!
Thought this was fun at the farmers market.  You can
buy these kits to grow your own mushrooms!
We went on another hike to Whatcom Falls in Bellingham.
 So pretty
Bliss wishing she had brought her swimsuit
so she could jump off the cliff!  That is a crazy
long way down but people were jumping!
Me hanging on.  I didn't dare
get too close to the edge.  My luck
I wouldn't need to jump, I'd just fall off.

Hiking on Lopez Island

Lopez Island reminded me of Ketchikan Alaska.
This is a hike we did in the rain.  Well, it
was drizzling.  But so so beautiful!
A beautiful place we came to at the end
of our hike.  Very misty and beautiful.
Bliss the "strong one" holding up this
falling rock!  haha
 Hiking
At the end of our second hike of the
day we got to Sharks Cove
(or something like that) and if you
look closely you can see the white seals.
