Work at cabin

We've been working for the past few weeks on
several projects at the cabin.  Greg and Robert are
replacing the windows which means that they had to
tear our the old ones.  Therefore, we had to put up
new cedar and paint.  As they started doing this they
realized that the cabin really needed to be painted this
year also.  (That was kind of a surprise--we thought
we had a few years)
They are brave!  Its very high up there and
the scaffolding we borrowed is pretty old.
I'm glad I don't have to go up there!  But
thankful that we have husbands who will!
Kayla and Tyson and Jaxon came for the weekend to
visit.  Jaxon having fun eating rocks while his mama was a bit
panicky.  I told Kayla that a little rocks and dirt never hurt
any little boy.  And Jaxon agreed!  Yummy.
Two old men, a baby and a Charlie dog.
Jaxon has discovered a fun new game of throw the ball
down to Grandpa Robert.
Hiking to Bloomington Lake.  Yep, Jaxon is
naked.  And he loved it.
Robert and Greg, Bryce and Shea having so
much fun!
We love going to Cooper's (the restaurant where Bryce works)
and listen to the live bands on Saturday nights.
I can even hike to Bloomington Lake.
Its only 1/2 mile hike and oh so beautiful!
This Grandma loves her baby Jaxson.
Even with a naked bum.
It was a hard hike for Jaxon though.  He is
all tuckered out.  One of these days I will
figure out how to upload my pictures in the correct order
that I want them to post.  But right now, its too much trouble to
figure out.  So, sorry for the randomness.
Yes, that is me with a chainsaw and Bliss is
trusting enough to be that close to me?  That is
true friendship for sure!  We did a little trimming of the
trees and chopping up some logs.

Visit to Colorado

I was able to go to visit Breeann and Brandon
in Colorado last weekend.  Brandon's
grandparents drove out there so I hitched a ride.
Breeann with her baby Sadie.
We drove up to Telluride to see the
sights and where Brandon works.
Its gorgeous up there!
Look what I found.  A little
shop named after my friend Bliss!!
Riding the gondola with Breeann and Grandma and
Granddad Lyon. (Brandon's grandparents)
It started raining on the gondola.  It was gorgeous.

Breeann in an old fashioned phone booth
Breeann trying to climb the rock wall with
Brandon's brother Josh.  Josh made it to the
top, Breeann was smarter than that!
Awww, kissing in the phone booth
at the train station.
I rode home on the train.  It really
is a pretty ride.

Aren't they cute?

Summer in Bear Lake

Bryce got a summer job in Bear Lake
working at a restaurant really close to our
cabin.  So he and I have been living there
all summer.  Greg comes up every weekend
and if he has one or two days off during the week
we go home.  Its been a different summer for sure.
Relaxing and enjoyable.  Taking Charlie for a little
hike one day.
I love sitting on our deck watching the
hummingbirds.  We have about 6 of them
that I have counted.  They're pretty amazing.
I also LOVE LOVE LOVE our view!
Its gorgeous.  This is early one morning.
The Sawyers come up quite often also.
This is during the 4th of July weekend.
Jaxson really wanted to play with Charlie.
Charlie really didn't want to play with Jaxson.
What's the 4th of July without a little
watermelon?  Even Jaxson loved it!
 My friend Debbie's mother relaxing.
Yep, this is a street in Bear Lake
named after Christa.  :)

By mid July I was kind of going a little stir crazy.  So I decided
to find a project to keep me busy.  This is a dresser that is in our
bedroom at the cabin.  I wanted to paint it and turn it into a TV
stand.  This is the color before.
 Almost finished
I painted the hardware with a metal spray paint.  I love it!
I'm leaving the top drawers out and Greg is going to cut wood
to make shelves so I can put the cable box and DVD player on them.
Right after a nice rain storm.  Its so
beautiful!
We tended my friend Sara's little girl
Brooke one weekend.  Having fun in the pool.
 Painting rocks
 Charlie swimming in the lake.
Brooke doing somersalts in the lake.

Treasure hunt in a big block of ice.
I think this was her favorite activity we did.
I hid dollar store items in a pan and froze it.  Then
dumped the ice out and gave her a hammer and
screw driver.  She loved it.  Then we had to take
the items and freeze them again.
 Playing candyland with Bryce.
 Playing at the park
The finished dresser.  I love how it turned out!!
My friend Kristi came up one day and
we made raspberry jam from the famous
raspberries from Bear Lake.  They are
known for their raspberry shakes!  YUM!
 Another big project this summer...
Greg and Robert are replacing all the
windows in the cabin.  This is the kitchen
before the wood border is put back on.
The laundry room after the border
was put back on.
Greg working hard on the windows.
This is a big project but we are excited
with how nice they are looking!
Bliss is a he-woman and thinks she can
chop wood!  She's pretty amazing!
Its been a really fun summer!

Bryce's 18th birthday

We spent Bryce's bday in Bear Lake.  My good
friend Kristi brought up her boat to help make his day
great!  Bryce and his friends playing horse shoes on the beach.
Some good looking teenage boys showing off.
Bryce has to be different.  I wanted them to all lay in
the water and pose.  He decided to sit in a chair over
top of the others just to be different.
I forgot my camera so I borrowed Kristi's camera.  However,
we didn't go get it until after we had a lunch break.  So I
didn't get pictures of the boys wakeboarding.  They loved that
but they also had a blast on the tube.
They had to be daring of course.
Right after crashing off the tube.
His present (a new cell phone)
A friend of his that he works with at
the restaurant this summer also works at
a go cart rental place and he let Bryce
ride for free since it was his birthday.
Greg and Shea and I made a cake and took it to
Bryce at work that night.  We sang happy birthday to
him in the kitchen.  Then some of the staff at the
restaurant pulled us aside right as we were leaving.
They said...come here and see what we have!  And look!
They had made him a cake also with sparklers.
He works with such great people!  They are all so
kind and make his job fun!  So they surprised him
and sang to him also. He was embarrassed. His  boss said that he just had to
deal with being embarrassed because that is the price
you have to pay for working on your birthday
(not that he had a choice...)
We also went to lunch and they
brought him a free ice cream sundae.
I think he had a good time.
