The crazy storm that hit Smithfield!

This storm came up really fast. As you can see from these pictures, it rained and hailed for an hour! We got almost 1 1/2 inches of rain in a period of an hour. There was a river of water running down our street and at one time we saw a large garbage can floating from one end of the street to the other. The hail was probably pea sized but it did quite a bit of damage. I had just planed flowers, so the blossoms are mostly dead. It took them right off the plants. The plant in my pot used to be a really pretty gerber daisy and now the blossoms are gone! In the back yard, we have a lot of Hostas and they were all shredded! We all stood at the front door and watched the hail come down, it was so amazing. In fact, Breeann's good friend Brandon, who is from Alabama kept wondering if there was going to be a tornado warning. I have never seen a storm like that in my life! It was pretty amazing. Oh and there was lightning and thunder.

That was an amazing storm. I worried about my garden when it was hailing, but somehow it was all saved. Did you see the poor people on the news whose basements were flooded?
